How to Subscribe – Script

Hello – this is Kerry Gubb with some more handy ACCM instructions.

When you log into the ACCM web site and navigate to one of your current course home pages, one of the available options is to “subscribe”.

Now, you’ve already registered for the course – so why would you need to subscribe also?

What exactly is subscribing?

Well, let me tell you!

Here we are at the Spiritual Formation course web home page.

I click on the Course Discussion Forum Picture-link, which takes me to the discussion forum page, where I find two Forums at the time we made this movie.  One is the Forum Archive,  which houses comments and contributions from former students of the course over a decade prior to the recent web site upgrade. The other is the current forum focussed on the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Philippians.  I can contribute my own answers – but I’m also interested to know when other people have left comments. In order to be informed automatically by the web site when there’s been an update or contribution, I can “subscribe” to the forum by clicking on the “subscribe” link.

You’ll notice that the “subscribe” link changes to “unsubscribe” when I’m done – so I can opt in and out of particular content notifications as and when I choose, just by clicking.

The “My Subscriptions” link at the left will list all of your subscriptions at once – with links and the option to unsubscribe from one central point.

Going back to where we were before in the Spiritual Formation course web, I can also opt to unsubscribe from the Philippians forum as a whole ... select the link to each of the 8 topics ... and then subscribe rather to individual discussions that might be of particular interest – such as the one about Philippians and trials.

Notifications arrive as emails sent automatically from the ACCM Student Learning Management System.

And that’s it for our quick tour of Subscribing.
